35th Anniversary Show

Champagne Reception
October 2, 2011    1 pm to 3 pm

Christopher Queen Galleries was established in 1976 by Nancy Ferreira and her mother, Alfhild Wallen, in the small village of Duncans Mills, California, population 20! In 1996, Tiare Rhodes Giardina joined the gallery and has been a welcome addition with her expertise and generous spirit.  The gallery was named after Christopher Queen, a Pony Express rider who then settled in Duncans Mills in the 1870’s and built the hotel and livery stable where the gallery was originally located. Christopher Queen Galleries grew from a small gallery specializing in both antique and contemporary prints to a renowned gallery hanging important Early California and Contemporary paintings. The gallery has hosted many one-man shows for nationally known Contemporary artists, drawing collectors from across the United States and beyond. Over the years Christopher Queen Galleries has also amassed one of the largest collections of Early California paintings dating from 1870 to 1920. Many of the artists featured in this collection are represented in the Oakland, de Young, and Crocker Museums. Join us for our 35th Anniversary celebration, meet the artists, and enjoy an exemplary selection of recent paintings by our awarding winning Contemporary artists.
